Leadership Development Programs
Penn State Cooperative Extension has a wide variety of leadership programs and resources materials for yourself, your organization, or community. Contact your local Cooperative Extension Office for further details. The RULE program is designed to develop community leaders who have the skills and resources that are necessary to meet the challenges of a changing community. Through individual and group learning experiences, participants develop the knowledge to make a difference. RULE is a competitive two-year program comprised of ten study institutes. RULE staff and alumni are available to conduct leadership and communication skills-based training, and are committed to developing and nurturing local leadership programs. Contact J.D. Dunbar Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow The "Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow" leadership curriculum was developed to help individuals develop and strengthen their personal leadership skills so they can play active and constructive leadership roles in their community. It focuses on developing and strengthening personal and interpersonal leadership skills, group and organizational leadership skills, and community leadership skills. Individual class modules provide students a working knowledge of the following:
County or Organization Specific Leadership Programs A variety of county-level leadership programs are available depending on the educational needs of your community or organization. Typically these including issues such as meeting management, communication skills, organizational development, teamwork and conflict resolution, volunteer recruitment, fund-raising, and community decision making. Whether it's a 1 hour program designed to help your organization communicate better or a 30 hour series of educational programs, our leadership programs can be tailored to a variety of circumstances and needs.
